This specially designed decoder allows even the most timid to easily install pure 16-bit digital sound in KATO HO diesel models. These Digital Sound Decoders are designed to replace the light board that comes in recent production KATO HO Diesel engines. For example, to equip an SD-70, rather than purchasing a model EMD 3rd Generation, you will purchase a TSU-KT1000 for KATO SD-70, which includes the correctly mounted lights and the sounds for an SD-70 (EMD 3rd Generation).

Tsunami Diesel decoders can produce over 14 sound effects, including engine startup and shutdown, engine prime mover through all eight notches, bell, airhorn, air compressor, dynamic brakes, radiator fans, brake squeal and more.

Tsunami goes several steps beyond ordinary sound generators. Tsunami is so powerful that it comes with its own special effects processors - the Equalizer, Sound Mixer and Reverb. It's like having a complete sound studio at your fingertips! The TSU-KT1000 is available in a variety of prime movers and physical board layouts to suit your KATO diesel model!

Brilliant Lighting Effects!
Tsunami TSU-KT1000 includes two board-mounted golden LEDs for your headlight and backup light, with two additional outputs available to use for other lighting features. The hardware is already on the circuit board for use with LEDs, so there is no need for external resistors or other electronics.

Advanced Motor Control
SoundTraxx has designed our special Hyperdriveâ„¢ technology into the decoder, resulting in smooth and precise locomotive operation. Hyperdrive includes many features such as High Resolution Speed Steps, High Frequency PWM Drive and Torque Control, all designed to improve the running characteristics of your locomotive.
